V loard of Adjustment Meeting September 3, 2024 Page 1 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS SEPTEMBER 312024 The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on September 3, 2024, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E Kaufman St. Present: Board Members-, David Hamilton, William Sanders,, Harley Draven, Richard Thompson and alternate Jerry Williams. City Representatives-, Osei Amo-Mensah and Stephanie Harris. Absent: Ben VaugjTM The Board ofAdjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman David Hamilton, at 12: 00 p. m. 2. Election of Officers. A. Chairperson David Hamilton was nominated and elected as Chairman, no other nominations were made. B. Tice- Chairperson Harley Draven was nominated and elected as vice -Chairperson, no other nominations were made. 3. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (July 2, 2 024) Motion was made by Richard Thompson, seconded by Harley Draven to approve minutes for the July 2, 2024 meeting. Motion carried 5 ayes — 0 nays. 4. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of Monte Moore regarding a variance to the City of'Paris Area Regulations, Section 9-402.1(2), on Lot 3, City Block 220-B, being located at 2135 E Price Street. David Hamilton opened the public hearing. Director of Planning and Zoning, Osei Amo-Mensah presented case to board. Monte Moore,, of 3170 Stacy Lane, said that after speaking with staff several times he was not aware of the square footage requirement until after he had already paid and had it arranged for the building to be moved. Mr. Moore also spoke with several neighbors who claim that their homes are less than 1,500 square feet. Mr. Moore believes that it is more important to have a development lot than a vacant lot.
