V <br />loard of Adjustment Meeting <br />September 3, 2024 <br />Page 1 <br />MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />SEPTEMBER 312024 <br />The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on <br />September 3, 2024, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E <br />Kaufman St. <br />Present: Board Members-, David Hamilton, William Sanders,, Harley Draven, Richard <br />Thompson and alternate Jerry Williams. <br />City Representatives-, Osei Amo-Mensah and Stephanie Harris. <br />Absent: Ben VaugjTM <br />The Board ofAdjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman David Hamilton, at <br />12: 00 p. m. <br />2. Election of Officers. <br />A. Chairperson <br />David Hamilton was nominated and elected as Chairman, no other nominations were <br />made. <br />B. Tice- Chairperson <br />Harley Draven was nominated and elected as vice -Chairperson, no other nominations were <br />made. <br />3. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (July 2, 2 024) <br />Motion was made by Richard Thompson, seconded by Harley Draven to approve minutes <br />for the July 2, 2024 meeting. Motion carried 5 ayes — 0 nays. <br />4. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of Monte Moore regarding a <br />variance to the City of'Paris Area Regulations, Section 9-402.1(2), on Lot 3, City Block <br />220-B, being located at 2135 E Price Street. <br />David Hamilton opened the public hearing. <br />Director of Planning and Zoning, Osei Amo-Mensah presented case to board. <br />Monte Moore,, of 3170 Stacy Lane, said that after speaking with staff several times he was <br />not aware of the square footage requirement until after he had already paid and had it <br />arranged for the building to be moved. Mr. Moore also spoke with several neighbors who <br />claim that their homes are less than 1,500 square feet. Mr. Moore believes that it is more <br />important to have a development lot than a vacant lot. <br />
