MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />107 EAST KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS TEXAS <br />THURSDAY AUGUST 151,2024,5:30 P.M. <br />1. The Airport Advisory Board was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Airport Manager Paul Strahan. <br />Members present: Scott Jackson, Jeffrey Nichols, and Leandra Maughon. <br />City Representatives: Interim City Manager Robert Vine and Airport Manager Paul Strahan <br />2. Citizen's Input. <br />No one spoke during the citizen's forum. <br />3. Approval of Minutes <br />The May 16, 2024, minutes needed approval, motion made to approve the minutes by Jeffrey <br />Nichols and seconded by Scott Jackson. <br />4. Receive Report from the Airport Manager. <br />• Runway Project Update <br />Runway, project has went very smooth. The runway, taxiways, taxiway connectors, and aircraft <br />apron all receive much needed attention on this project. Three concrete panels were identified as <br />needing replaced after the project started, enough money was in the overall budget to replace the <br />concrete panels. Project officially started July 9; 2024, and lasted 37 days. Fuel sales reflected the <br />project as many corporate aircraft elected to delay coming into the airport until after the project <br />was complete. A full runway closure was needed to complete the project, the full closure of the <br />runway lasted for 7 days. Service life of the runway is 15-20 years. <br />A compass rose on the ramp was removed due to the project. There is a volunteer group that will <br />repaint this at no charge to the airport, the volunteer group only works during the spring and fall. <br />The airport is working on getting this group to repaint our compass rose. <br />• Taxi -Lane Crack Seal Work <br />During the full runway closure the main taxi -lane and part of an aircraft apron was crack sealed. <br />This is an effort to prolong the life of the pavement. Work was done on July 19 & 20, J&L Paving <br />(Local Company) did the work. The cost was covered under the RAMP Grant through. TXDOT <br />Aviation. <br />• Paris Junior College Q&A <br />PJC reached out to the airport and wanted to see if they could bring 20 kids out to the airport and <br />have someone talk to them about aviation.
