to the kids about the different jobs there are in aviation. Both Mr. Allan and I fielded a good amount
of questions from the audience.
• North / West Development
West Development is no longer in progress due to the overall cost of the project.
North Development is progressing smoothly. KSA Engineering is finishing up the plans for the
project. Those plans will need to be looked over by the airport. The legal agreement for the project
is currently being worked on and will be forwarded to LT Wings after it is completed to see if they
have any questions / concerns. The city could not put forth any money toward this project but did
agree to install all water lines and fire hydrants related to this project which will cut out the labor
cost of those items. This project will add 9 new privately owned hangars and will increase the
revenue for the airport in regards to ground leases and fuel revenue.
• Fuel Farm Update
The required 10% match to use the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) funding was
placed into the upcoming FY 25 budget. Post runway project, the airport will be working with
Lochner on locations for the new fuel farm. Ideally, the new fuel farm, would sit where the old
tanks are by using a false bottom and after the old tanks are decommissioned. Using the same
location will be a hurdle to overcome. FAA and TCEQ will need to sign off on this plan. Estimated
cost of decommissioning the old fuel tanks is around $50K.
5.
