Benefiting utilities include: • Markham Municipal Utility District • Matagorda County Water Control and Improvements District • River Oaks Water Supply Corporation • Wadsworth Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants • Matagorda Water District and Water Supply Corporation Fortifying water and wastewater systems reduces the potential of damages due to non -operation and decreases the chances of sewage backup and associated public health and sanitation risks. The project increases the County's resiliency to power outages caused by wind haz- ards and storms and facilitates economic recovery following a disaster.
