Rachel Andrews, PE, CFM, Application Specialist As a Hazard Mitigation Elevation Project Manager with 15 years of experience, Rachel Andrews uses her civil engineering background to manage large-scale elevation/recon- struction housing projects. She distributes, collects, organizes, and maintains program appli- cant information and is responsible for applicant, client, and contractor communication. Rachel provides project planning and scoping, financial project tracking and management, and project staff G coordination. Rachel has a strong track record of achieving results through collaboration and a proven ability to work independently. She has effective organizational, planning, and strong communication skills in both oral and written forms. She uses her collaborative abilities to work with technical staff, elected officials, and communities. Rachel has a BS in Civil/Water Resources Engineering and a BA in Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin. She also is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Floodplain Manager. Maria Bedlia, Application Specialist Since 2009, Maria Bedia has gained extensive experience in a variety of federal and state grant pro- grams, specifically ones offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM). She has submitted applications that were successful in receiving funding from the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). In addition to preparing the appli- cations, Maria was responsible for project implementation, management, reporting, and closeout. She managed Public Assistance (PA) projects for several declared disasters. Maria has experience working in FEMA's Grants Portal as well as TDEM's Grants Management System (GMS). Maria is excited to be joining GrantWorks and making a difference in the lives of others. She has an MBA and BS in Business Adminis- tration from the University of Incarnate Word. Aeli Gonzalez Gladstein, Plannelr Aeli Gonzalez-Gladstein is a Hazard Mitigation Planner with expertise in resiliency planning. He joined the Community Development Team as a Project Manager in April 2021 and transferred to the Hazard Mit- igation Team in May 2022. He has managed projects totaling over $55 million, funded through various agencies. Aeli focuses on building relationships with his clients and works to achieve total satisfaction on every project. He uses his experience to manage technical and financial aspects of projects, including tracking and balancing budgets and invoices, reviewing engineering designs, assisting efficiently and effectively in developing bid packages, and assuring compliance with state and federal regulations. He has an MS in City and Regional Planning and an MS in Sustainable Environmental Systems from the Pratt Institute. He also has a BA in Arts and Humanities from the University of Maryland. Natalie Johnson, Plannelr With five years of planning experience, Natalie Johnson is a Hazard Mitigation Planner at GrantWorks. Before joining GrantWorks, she spent five years with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) as a Hazard Mitigation Planner. In this position, her primary responsibilities were to serve as a liai- son between local jurisdictions and FEMA, provide expertise in hazard mitigation planning, and facilitate the approval of Local Hazard Mitigation Plans by FEMA. Natalie earned a MA in Geological Resource and Environmental Studies and a BS in Resource and Environmental Studies from Texas State University.
