Board of Adjustment Meeting <br />December 3, 2024 <br />Page I <br />MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />DECEMBER 3, 2024 <br />The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on <br />December 3, 2024, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E <br />Kaufman St. <br />Present-, Board Members: David Hamilton, William Sanders, Ben Vaughan, Richard <br />Thompson and Jerry Williams. <br />City Representative.- Stephanie Harris SII Osei Amo-Mensah. <br />Absent: Harlel= <br />1. The Board of adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman David Hamilton, at <br />12:00p.m. <br />2. Approval of minutesfrom previous meeting. (November 5, 2024) <br />Motion was made by Richard Thompson, seconded by Ben Vaughan to approve minutes <br />for the November 5, 2024 meeting. Motion carried 5 ayes — 0 nays. <br />3. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of Terry Martin regarding <br />variances to the City of Paris A ccessorBuilding and Area Regulations, on Lot 3, Block <br />y <br />A, of the Alorth Park Estates, being located at 3430 Vagas Drive. Sections and variances <br />asfollows.- <br />1) Variance to allow a detached accessory structure in the front yard, <br />Section 13-101 (a). <br />2) .13'variance to allow a detached accessory structure to be located 0,from <br />main structure, Section 13-101 (c). <br />3) 20' variance to allow a detached accessory structure in the front yard <br />creating a 5 'front setback, Section 9-501 (1). <br />David Hamilton opened the public hearing. <br />Director of Planning and Zoning, Osei Amo-Mensah presented case to board. <br />Terry Martin, applicant, spoke to the board in regard to the need for the carport to <br />accommodate his brother's vehicle. Though he has a two -car garage, you cannot easily fit <br />two cars in there and he has tools!, his lawn -mower and generator stored in there. <br />Tony Martin, of 3430 Vagas Drive, spoke in favor of the request.
