Board of Adjustment Meeting December 3, 2024 Page I MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS DECEMBER 3, 2024 The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on December 3, 2024, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E Kaufman St. Present-, Board Members: David Hamilton, William Sanders, Ben Vaughan, Richard Thompson and Jerry Williams. City Representative.- Stephanie Harris SII Osei Amo-Mensah. Absent: Harlel= 1. The Board of adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman David Hamilton, at 12:00p.m. 2. Approval of minutesfrom previous meeting. (November 5, 2024) Motion was made by Richard Thompson, seconded by Ben Vaughan to approve minutes for the November 5, 2024 meeting. Motion carried 5 ayes — 0 nays. 3. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of Terry Martin regarding variances to the City of Paris A ccessorBuilding and Area Regulations, on Lot 3, Block y A, of the Alorth Park Estates, being located at 3430 Vagas Drive. Sections and variances asfollows.- 1) Variance to allow a detached accessory structure in the front yard, Section 13-101 (a). 2) .13'variance to allow a detached accessory structure to be located 0,from main structure, Section 13-101 (c). 3) 20' variance to allow a detached accessory structure in the front yard creating a 5 'front setback, Section 9-501 (1). David Hamilton opened the public hearing. Director of Planning and Zoning, Osei Amo-Mensah presented case to board. Terry Martin, applicant, spoke to the board in regard to the need for the carport to accommodate his brother's vehicle. Though he has a two -car garage, you cannot easily fit two cars in there and he has tools!, his lawn -mower and generator stored in there. Tony Martin, of 3430 Vagas Drive, spoke in favor of the request. He moved in with his
