Board of Adjustment Meeting <br />January 7, 2025 <br />Page I <br />MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />JANUARY 7, 2025 <br />The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 12 p.m. on January <br />7, 2025, at the City of Paris- City Hall, Council Chambers located at 107 E Kaufman St. <br />Present: Board Members: David Hamilton, William Sanders, Ben Vaughan, Richard <br />Thompson and Harley Draven. <br />City Representative - Stephanie Harris and Osei Amo-Mensah. <br />Absent: None <br />1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman David Hamilton, at <br />12: 00 p. m. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (December 3, 2024) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Richard Thompson to approve minutes <br />for the December 3, 2024 meeting. Motion carried 5 ayes — 0 nays. <br />3. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of Theodore Henderson <br />regarding variances to the City of Paris Accessory Building Regulations, on Lot 4, Block <br />J, of the Morningside Estates, being located at 845 SE 391" Street. Sections and variances <br />asfollows.- <br />1) 3 'variance to allow a detached accessory structure to be located 5'from the <br />rear property line and O'from the easement line, Section 13-101(c). <br />2) II'variance to allow a detached accessory structure to be located 4' from <br />main structure, Section 13-101(c). <br />David Hamilton opened the public hearing. <br />Director of Planning and Zoning, Osei Amo-Mensah presented case to board. <br />Theodore Henderson, of 845 SE 39hStreet, spoke about his request for variances to build <br />a shop. Mr. Henderson would like to have his shop and carport so he can store his vehicles <br />and have a designated area for his hobbies and storage. <br />There was discussion amongst the board and the applicant about the location of the building <br />in reference to the easement. There was also discussion if the applicant would rather reduce <br />the size or relocate of the building. <br />Paige Unger made note of the 1 input received in favor of the request. <br />
