Building and Standards Meeting July 15, 2024 Page 2 C. 1815 N Collegiate; Oak Park Addition, Block A, Lot 17 Owner: Gina Rochelle Goss; 304 Sartwelle Rd, Gillham, AR 71841 Robert Talley stated the structure has extensive fire damage from a fire that happened January 15th, 2025. There are holes in the roof, missing and deteriorated wood, and the structure is unsecure. Mrs. Gina Ross stated she is waiting on the fire investigation to be completed by her insurance company. There was discussion amongst the board regarding the fire cause and how long the house had been vacant (12 years). Neighbors Mary O'mara and Lori Knapp were present and spoke of their concern of wanting this house torn down as soon as possible. There was input from a Wait Irwin brought by Mrs. O'rnara regarding the same concerns (Exhibit "A"). Mayor Mihir Pankaj also spoke about how this property has been an issue long before the fire took place and we needed to get this structure torn down fairly quickly. Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, secure within 14 days, demo within 30 days, or the city has right to do so. Motion made by Chris Dux, seconded by Kim Walker, to secure within 14 days, demo/start repairs within 30 days or will be brought back to commission. Motion carried. 4-1 G. 1936 Cleveland; Highland Park Addition, Block 3, Lot PT of 5 Owner: William R Freeman; 286 Creekwood Dr, Sunnyvale, TX 75182 Robert Talley stated the structure has holes in the roof and foundation damage. There is junk and rubbish throughout the entire property. The structure is also unsecure. Robert Talley's recommendation: Declare a nuisance, demo and remove junk and rubbish within 30 days, secure within 14 days or the city has the right to do SO. Motion made by Chris Dux, seconded by Kim Walker, to follow staff recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5-0
