Item No. 15
FA J R'', 17, 1 M'', 1, 7,11 '-
TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem, & City Council
Rose Beverly, City Manager
FROM: Robert G. Vine, Deputy City Manager
SUBJECT: Update from Staff Regarding Possible Projects to fund with $400,000 from Solar
Farm Disannexation
DATE: April 14, 2025
BACKGROUND: On March 24, 2025, staff presented a list of 12 different projects that could
possibly be funded, in part or in full, with the $400,000.00 from the Solar Farm Disannexation
Project. This list was presented at the request of the Council.
STATUS OF ISSUE: At the March 24"' meeting the Council directed Staff to narrow the list and
bring the remaining possible project packages back to City Council at the next regular Council
meeting. Staff is working on narrowing this list to those projects which do not have other possible
funding sources and requests more time to determine which items could be funded by HOT and a
possible partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, or other funds, such as TIRZ. Staff is
working closely with the Chamber of Commerce to maximize the opportunity to complete multiple
projects, which takes coordination between the Chamber Board and will ultimately result in a
written agreement outlining each project funded by HOT between the City and the Chamber of
Commerce.
Staff expects to have a presentation ready to bring back to Council at the first meeting in May
2025.
BUDGET: N/A
OPTIONS: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: Update only.
