Toole Design created two distinct concepts for Market <br />Square that provide a strong and flexible connection linking all three facilities into a cohesive design. Lambka <br />Associates will work with city staff to select one of the two concepts developed by Toole Design to move forward <br />to an approximate 5% level of design. The concept design will be developed in AutoCAD over GIS and aerial <br />imagery — not with the use of a survey, unless provided — at a scale of no more than I" = 50'. Lambka Associates <br />will present the concept plan to city staff and other appropriate city officials for review and comment. One round of <br />revisions will be made to the concept plan, and a final working concept plan will be included In the Vision Paris <br />Guide. <br />Notes: To assist with Task 5 Opinion of Probable Construction Cost development for the, proposed vertical <br />structures, Lambka Associates will work with a local Architect. <br />4.5 Streetscape Elements <br />Streets make up the largest portion of the public realm that is availal* for creating a.sense place. Streets are a <br />billboard advertising your community values. The visual quality of downtown is paramount to a successful <br />downtown. This goes beyond storefronts and building facades to include a comprehensive analysis of public <br />realm and urban design conditions. Lambka Associates will inventory thepul5licrealm and urban design elements <br />of Downtown Paris. Specific attention will be placed on understanding the current relationship between the built <br />environment and the pedestrian and vehicular zones'llo determine overall indicet for walkability, accessibility, <br />comfort, and attractiveness downtown. <br />Making the proceeding streetscape element selections early will Sidi. While Parts currently uses 'a,Victory Stanley backless bench and trash receptacle, Lambka <br />Associates will evaluate the needfor a new dity standard bench, trash/recycle refuse, kiosk, and a bike rack, and <br />design guidelines will be explored for private business owners to have furnishings that match their individual style <br />while complementing the city standard. <br />Lighting will be broken into twoscales—pedestrianand vehicular. Currently, downtown features one style of light <br />trying to perform both teeks1which may not fit the vernacular of downtown. An existing inventory of light fixtures <br />within downtown will be documented to aid in the selection of fixtures moving forward. Color, lumens, luminaries, <br />globe style, and the ability to don artwork, banners, and hanging baskets will be addressed in the selection and <br />guidance. Location and number of lights will be based on street typology. Maintenance, replacement cost, and the <br />ability to partner with your utility provider for lighting needs will also be considered. <br />
