RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A <br />PROPERTY OWNER AUTHORIZATION FORM RELATED TO OBTAINING <br />HISTORIC LANDMARK STATUS FOR LAKE CROOK; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, for over a century, Lake Crook has played a major part in the long <br />history of the City, serving as both as a water source and as a recreational area for <br />generations of residents and visitors; and <br />WHEREAS, Marvin Gorley, a citizen of the City, is leading an effort to have the Lake <br />declared a historic landmark by the Texas Historical Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, as part of the application, the City, as owner of the property, must <br />voluntarily authorize designation; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved and are incorporated herein by reference for all purposes. <br />Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas hereby voluntarily <br />seeks historic landmark status for Lake Crook and hereby authorizes the City Manager, <br />Rose Beverly, to execute any and all documents in furtherance of same, including but not <br />limited to the "Recorded Texas Historical Landmark: Property Owner Authorization" <br />attached hereto as Attachment A. <br />Section 3.
