Item No. 8 <br />Memorandum <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council <br />Rose Beverly, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: ACKNOWLEDGING RESULTS OF PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION FOR <br />COUNCIL DISTRICT 1, 2,3 & 6 AND DECLARING CANDIDATES FOR <br />COUNCIL DISTRICTS 1, 2,3 & 6 ELECTED TO OFFICE <br />DATE: May 11, 2026 <br />BACKGROUND: On January 26, 2026, by Resolution Number 2026-004, City Council ordered <br />the Regular Municipal Election for the purpose of voters to elect Council Members from <br />Districts 1, 2, 3 & 6. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: On February 18, 2026, the City Clerk issued a Certificate of Unopposed <br />Candidates for Districts 1, 2,3 & 6. <br />On April 19, 2026, Mickey Ellis, candidate for Council District Two, submitted his resignation <br />effective May 11, 2026. That resignation was received and approved by the City Council on <br />April 27, 2026. Council Member Ellis will not be taking the oath of office. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution declaring Stacy Ladell elected to serve as City <br />Council Member for District 1; declaring Mickey Ellis elected to serve as City Council Member <br />for District 2; declaring Gary Savage elected to serve as City Council Member for District 3; and <br />declaring Alix Putnam elected to serve as City Council Member for District 6. <br />
