Item No. 7 Memorandum TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council Ms. Rose Beverly, City Manager FROM: Steve Hodges, Engineering Manager SUBJECT: Award a contract with Superior Equipment Solutions for the 28' NW Sewer Main Improvements DATE: May 11, 2026 BACKGROUND: At the February 23, 2026, City Council meeting, a contract was awarded to Superior Equipment Solutions, LLC in the amount of $575,000.00 for the 28' Street NW Sewer Main Improvements Project. Subsequently, it was learned that easement acquisition for this project was not complete. City Staff was informed by the grant administrator that moving forward could jeopardize the grant. Upon discussion between City Staff, Hayter Engineering and GrantWorks, it was decided the best action would be to repeal the former action and City Council took action on March 9, 2026. STATUS OF ISSUE: City Staff has been informed that easement acquisition is complete and is bringing this item back to City Council for approval. BUDGET: If approved, the project will be paid from TxCDBG grant funds in the amount of $500,000.00 and the City's match of $75,000.00. Hayter Engineering has verified the accuracy and completeness of their bid and found all references to have provided positive feedback about the company's work performance and capabilities. RECOMMENDATION: Approve a contract with Superior Equipment Solutions in the amount of $575,000.00 ($500,000.00 to be paid from TxCDBG grant funds and $75,000.00 from the City representing the City's match) for the 28`h NW Sewer Main Improvements; and authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents.
