Item No. 11 <br />Memorandum <br />TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council <br />Rose Beverly, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: ELECTION OF MAYOR AND MAYOR PRO -TEM <br />DATE: May 11, 2026 <br />BACKGROUND: Following the acknowledgement of the result of prior Council action <br />declaring Candidates for Council Districts 1, 2, 3 & 6 elected to office, the resignation of Mickey <br />Ellis 6or Council District 1, and administering of Oaths, the City Council will be seated for the <br />upcoming year. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: Section 14 of the City Charter requires that the newly comprised City <br />Council shall elect from among its members a Mayor and Mayor Pro -Tem. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Elect a Mayor and a Mayor Pro -Tem to serve for one year. <br />
