Regular Council Meeting <br />April 27, 2026 <br />Page 5 <br />Mr. McGee explained the importance of these codes and amendments, specifically the <br />ICC Codes ensured the City maintains best practices in building safety, aligns national standards <br />and remains competitive in BCEGS scoring. He said these codes incorporated updated <br />engineering principles, new technologies, modern life -safety standards, ICC certification <br />requirements for building officials and inspectors, and improved clarity across all building <br />disciplines. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Attebury and seconded by <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Savage. Motion carried, 5 ayes — 0 nays. <br />22. Convene into executive session pursuant to Section 551.072 of the Texas Government <br />Code, to deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property if deliberation <br />in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the governmental <br />body in negotiations with a third person. <br />Mayor Pankaj convened City Council into executive session at 6:19 p.m. <br />23. Convene into open session and possibly take action on those matters discussed in <br />executive session. <br />Mayor Pankaj reconvened City Council into open session at 6:56 p.m. and said there was <br />no action to be taken. <br />24. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 2004-081. <br />None were referenced <br />25. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Mayor Pro -Tem <br />Savage and seconded by Council Member Attebury. Motion carried, 5 ayes - 0 nays.
