Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 15, 2026 <br />1. Call to order: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order by <br />Chairman Steve Hellmann at 5:03 p.m. Board members present were Stere Hellmann, <br />Ezra Dickey, Abigail Frank, Dee Hawkes, Ayers Hurt, and Jennifer Cullum. Annette Legis <br />was absent. Also in attendance were Library Director Connie Lawman and Friends of the <br />Paris Public Library representative, Jeannie Walter. <br />r. <br />11. Citizens Forum: <br />No citizens addressed the board. <br />1 1 l . Approval: <br />The minutes of the March 18, 2026 meeting were approved with no corrections. Abigail <br />made the motion to approve and Evac provided the second. <br />Ill. Neter Business: <br />a. Rhodes Fund Stage One - Gallery and Teen Doollakerspae <br />Connie informed the board that the new tables for the Gallery (Purchased with <br />Library funds) will be arriving soon and the old tables will be stored for outside <br />use. The Gallery will also have wood shutters, the tv has been remounted, and <br />the new carpet will match the carpet in the MaEkerspoe. <br />Connie said that any repainting would happen prig to new carpet. She also <br />noted that with regard to replacing the carpet, the old side of the building would <br />be first. She said that it would be faster and more efficient to rent equipment to <br />move the shelves, versus having to rove all of the books. <br />After this stage of remodeling is complete, Connie said that there are two more <br />stages, of which the tinning for those has net been addressed yet. Connie wants <br />to complete all of Stage I before moving on to anything else. <br />Steve asked for what's next, to which Connie said that she wants to collaborate <br />with the Friends on the bookmobile project. This would be an opportunity for the <br />Friends and the library to work together for outreach and funding, Her current <br />thought is that the Friends would pay for the vehicle to be wrapped and then <br />volunteers would rotate shifts for staffing the bookmobile. Stere asked for more <br />details on hoer the financing of the project would ensure to keep It alive. He <br />
