Main Street Advisory Board Meeting <br />July 14, 2026 <br />Page 2 <br />5. Receive report/presentation from Businesses applying for Building Improvement Grants. <br />114 S Main, and Sarah Coyle Sain from the new Barber Shop in downtown Paris have <br />requested matching funds from the Building Improvement Grant to help with the <br />renovation project that is now complete. The project entailed AC, paint, plumbing, <br />electric, a refurbished entry fagade, etc. The total project was over $100,000 in <br />investment. The interior was over the $10,000 required to receive matching funds up to <br />$5,000. <br />A motion was made to approve grant reimbursement for $5000 matching funds by board <br />member Paula Shoffeitt and seconded by board member Michelle Scribner. Motion <br />carried, 5 ayes — _0_ nays. <br />6. Board Committee Reports: <br />Workplan Updates from Committee Members: <br />Kim Kalina- discussed updating the downtowntx.org website. <br />Kevin Moore- discussed the walk -around of board members with Cheri and encouraged <br />another Google poll to find the best date for everyone. <br />Election of Officers: Kevin Moore expressed his desire to remain chair for another year. <br />Board member Kim Kalina moved to approve. Seconded by board member Michelle <br />Scribner. Motion carried, _5_ayes — _0_ nays. <br />Vice Chair- A motion by board chair Kevin Moore was made for Mary Hart to remain as <br />vice chair. Motion was seconded by board member Michelle Scribner. Motion carried, <br />_5 ayes — _0_ nays. <br />Secretary- Kevin Moore motioned that Kim Kalina remains as secretary. Seconded by <br />board member Paula Shoffeitt. Motion carried, ___,5_ayes — _0_ nays. <br />Coordinator's Report: Cheri Bedford shared: The First Street project including bump outs <br />is progressing. The name "The Rue" and they are working on the trademark for the <br />location. The city will be hosting the grand opening. The extension has been approved for <br />the 22nd. The parking lot across from The Gibraltar Hotel will be getting striped this week. <br />Trees have been donated. Solar lights have been added and will be usable in about 6 weeks. <br />On July 27th, Cheri will be presenting to the City Council at 5:30 and would like board <br />members to attend. She will be attending a preservation conference July 23-26. Cheri <br />shared a little about herself and her position with the new members and encouraged the <br />new members to make an appointment with her to learn more about their roles as board <br />members. Cheri is working on a retreat for all board members so that we can update our <br />workplan. <br />Hayley Reynolds, Main Street Assistant: Farmer's Market- We are up 30% in attendance. <br />Hayley attributes the increased attendance to social media and creation of mini events <br />during the farmer's market itself. Farmer's Market guidelines are to increase <br />accountability. We have 10 sponsors for the Festival of Pumpkins but are still looking for <br />more.
