Main Street Advisory Board Meeting July 14, 2026 Page 2 5. Receive report/presentation from Businesses applying for Building Improvement Grants. 114 S Main, and Sarah Coyle Sain from the new Barber Shop in downtown Paris have requested matching funds from the Building Improvement Grant to help with the renovation project that is now complete. The project entailed AC, paint, plumbing, electric, a refurbished entry fagade, etc. The total project was over $100,000 in investment. The interior was over the $10,000 required to receive matching funds up to $5,000. A motion was made to approve grant reimbursement for $5000 matching funds by board member Paula Shoffeitt and seconded by board member Michelle Scribner. Motion carried, 5 ayes — _0_ nays. 6. Board Committee Reports: Workplan Updates from Committee Members: Kim Kalina- discussed updating the downtowntx.org website. Kevin Moore- discussed the walk -around of board members with Cheri and encouraged another Google poll to find the best date for everyone. Election of Officers: Kevin Moore expressed his desire to remain chair for another year. Board member Kim Kalina moved to approve. Seconded by board member Michelle Scribner. Motion carried, _5_ayes — _0_ nays. Vice Chair- A motion by board chair Kevin Moore was made for Mary Hart to remain as vice chair. Motion was seconded by board member Michelle Scribner. Motion carried, _5 ayes — _0_ nays. Secretary- Kevin Moore motioned that Kim Kalina remains as secretary. Seconded by board member Paula Shoffeitt. Motion carried, ___,5_ayes — _0_ nays. Coordinator's Report: Cheri Bedford shared: The First Street project including bump outs is progressing. The name "The Rue" and they are working on the trademark for the location. The city will be hosting the grand opening. The extension has been approved for the 22nd. The parking lot across from The Gibraltar Hotel will be getting striped this week. Trees have been donated. Solar lights have been added and will be usable in about 6 weeks. On July 27th, Cheri will be presenting to the City Council at 5:30 and would like board members to attend. She will be attending a preservation conference July 23-26. Cheri shared a little about herself and her position with the new members and encouraged the new members to make an appointment with her to learn more about their roles as board members. Cheri is working on a retreat for all board members so that we can update our workplan. Hayley Reynolds, Main Street Assistant: Farmer's Market- We are up 30% in attendance. Hayley attributes the increased attendance to social media and creation of mini events during the farmer's market itself. Farmer's Market guidelines are to increase accountability.
