MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION Monday, November 21, 2005 4:00 P.M. 1. Chad Brown called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to order at 4:10 P.M. Roll was called. A. The following members were present: Pike Burkhart, Alternate Chris Brown, Alternate Chad Brown Lucius Joe, Jr. B. The following members were absent: Brad Archer Mary Crumpler Zach Saffle, Alternate Greg Wilson Harrell Tippitt Steve Brown, Alternate Ryan Lassiter 2. Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: A motion was made by Pike Burkhart to approve the meeting minutes, and Chad Brown seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. 3. Public hearing to consider the presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled A Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures: A. 347 Bonham Street, Lot 3, City Block 120 Chad Brown made a motion that the property be secured within 30 days with a $1,000 per day civil penalty and if the property is not secured within the 30 day time period, the City will secure. Also, bring back to BSC to consider the roof repair. Lucius Joe, Jr. seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. B. 515 Neagle Street, Lot E ~ of 4,5 & 6, Block 4, Neagle Addition The owner has contacted Tri-State Contractors to tear down both properties. Chad Brown made a motion that the property be demolished within 30 days with a $1,000 per day civil penalty and if the property is not demolished within the 30 day time period, the City will demolish the property.
