<br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-011 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under the provIsIons of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of <br />1988 (Public Law 100-690), Texas will receive federal funds to <br />provide funding for the Texas Narcotics Control Program (TNCP), <br />and Governor Clements has designated the Criminal Justice <br />Division, Office of the Governor, to administer the program in <br />the form of grants to units of government; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to <br />be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris to seek such <br />assistance which will focus on drug law enforcement; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an application for such grant assistance in an <br />amount to be determined by John Coffel, Director, Texas Narcotics <br />Control Program, after all applications have been received, <br />should be made; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if such application for grant assistance is <br />approved, the pro j ec tis to be funded by 75/0 f eder al funds and <br />25% local matching funds; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br />1. That an application be made to the Texas Narcotics <br />Control Program, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice <br />Division for a Texas Narcotics Control Program, 1990 Grant, in <br />an amount to be determined by John Coffel, Director, Texas <br />Narcotics Control Program after all applications have been received, <br />and if such application for grant assistance is approved, the <br />project is to be funded by 75% federal funds and 25% local <br />matching funds. <br /> <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of <br />Paris, be, and he is hereby appointed as the Authorized Official <br />of said project and is authorized and directed to execute on <br />behalf of the City of Paris the application for grant in the form <br />attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />3. That Karl Louis, Chief, Paris Police Department, be, <br />and he is hereby appointed as Project Director and is hereby <br />authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris <br />all reports, communications, assurances and documents necessary <br />for the completion of said project. <br /> <br />4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is <br />hererby appointed as Financial Officer and is hereby authorized <br />to receive and distribute funds for purposes of said project. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 12th day of February, 1990. <br /> <br />---I' ./ <br />~// /' - <br />),- ( .
