<br />The module is table driven, and the user agency may make use of the NCIC classification <br />methods or design and develop its own classification method. <br /> <br />The following features are provided within this portion of the RMS module: <br /> <br />Laboratory Information and Tracking - Items are tracked by laboratory number and <br />analysis results may be entered. <br /> <br />Status Tl'acking - Each item is tracked separately. This allows one of a group of items <br />within a control numbered package to be released or destroyed, while the status and chain <br />of custody on all other items is maintained. <br /> <br />Chain of Custody - The movements of each individual item are tracked and recorded. <br />Printed reports may be generated to detail the movements of property for court purposes <br />if desired. <br /> <br />Bin/Location ID - Each item is assigned a location while being held. This information <br />may be changed as necessary to reflect the current location as it moves through the <br />process from collection to final disposition. <br /> <br />Names - The property entry screen displays all individuals associated with a case. The <br />user only needs to indicate the individual's relationship to the item of property. The <br />property clerk may also access new names. These are automatically recorded in the <br />Master Name Index. <br /> <br />Narrative - Any amount of narrative may be added connected with any piece of property. <br /> <br />Recovered Property - Matches are maintained between the recovered items and the <br />Stolen Property Records. <br /> <br />COOl't Tl'acking - Court Identifications are cross-referenced to the property record. <br /> <br />Inquil'ies and Calendar - Several on-line inquiry features are included which are <br />designed to assist property personnel in the management of the property facility. These. <br />include: <br /> <br />Evidence By Control Number - This report lists each item within a control number, <br />and includes a description, status, location and case number for the item. <br /> <br />Evidence By Article Class - This report lists each item by article class. Like the <br />previous report, this report includes the description, status, location or bin number and <br />case number of each item. The property personnel may access the evidence <br />information by description alone. <br /> <br />Evidence By Case Number - This report lists all items of evidence related to a <br />particular case and displays similar information as the other reports.
