Building or Site Plans
Maps Showing Hydrant Locations
Signed Witness Statements
Original Officer Reports

Property Receipts
Accident Diagrams
Fingerprints
Mugshots

The Imaging System utilized by the CMS software is based upon the IBM developed approach
for the IBM AS/400. This software and hardware utilizes the IBM 486/Pentium PC as a
workstation.

The CMS module provides, as a standard part of the system, the capabilities to utilize this
technology. This allows the user to review reports on-line and to make printed copies from
terminals connected to the AS/400. Interfaces to the scanning function are provided. This
capability makes full use of this technology with IBM supported hardware and software.

The interface between the CMS software and the IBM Imaging System is integrated into various
search procedures. Images may be recalled based upon numerous parameters rather than
requiring the re-entry of the case number in a specialized procedure.

Images may also be displayed in vehicles utilizing the Public Safety Communications System
with Laptop computers and a radio interface. For this application, the base maps or diagrams
reside within the Laptop and only the recall command, windowing, and overlays are transmitted.
This is designed to alleviate the problem of the slow nature of RF transmissions.

Hydrant Locations
Hazardous Materials
Crime Patterns
Patrol (Beat) Work Load Control

Unit Location
Routing Calls for Service
Minimum Travel Time Profiles

Geographic Information Systems - This technology allows agencies to perform visual analysis of
geographically based data.

Utilizing the IBM RS/6000 engineering workstation and various interface products, to interface
to the AS/400, CMS allows the user to perform customized analysis of public safety data residing
in the AS/400 data base and to display it graphically on the RS/6000.

Other RMS Features. Many other additional features are included as a standard part of the RMS
module. These include:

Global Searches for Names, Locations, and Case Numbers
Pawned Article Entry Integrated with Stolen Property Entry
Suspect Profiles with Physical Descriptions
Case Report Forms Showing All Available Information

22
