<br />Board Minutes for the <br />Paris Economic Development Corporation <br />February 15, 2006 <br />4:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Board Members <br />Present: Sims Norment <br />Glenn Bawcum <br />Mike Dunn <br /> <br />Board Members <br />Absent: Dick Severson <br />Rodney Bass <br /> <br />Ex-officio Members <br />Present: Brady Fisher <br />Tony Williams <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br />Gary Vest <br />Chad Madding <br /> <br />Sims Norment called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes of the January, 2006 meeting were approved as presented. <br /> <br />The financial report was presented for the month ending January 31,2006. The <br />financial report was approved as presented. <br /> <br />Gary Vest gave his director's report. Gary took Project Hurricane's Enterprise <br />Fund Application to Austin. The PEDC needed to get an impact study done on <br />Project Hurricane to complete the application. We contacted TXU and they <br />agreed to pay for the study. The PEDC paid the $1,000 filling fee. The State will <br />now review the application and contact us in regards to an award. Gary <br />discussed Alexandria, Louisiana's incentive package in regards to Project <br />Hurricane. The project is working with Hibernia Bank on getting the financing <br />for the project. Project Mexico has gone to the State EDC office and will now be <br />called Project Verde. We answered Project Verde's RFI with the information we <br />gathered from their past visit. David Owens and Christi Wendell are working on <br />We Pack's tax abatement application for their new 200,000 SF building. Gary <br />passed out information about Tenaska III being bought by Direct Energy. Steve <br />Pearson will be staying on with Tenaska III and moving to Nacadocious, Texas. <br />Sara Lee is now working with the city on a waste treatment policy for handling <br />the waste Sara Lee produces. The meetings are going well and both sides are <br />
