PEDe Minutes
January 18, 2006
Page 2

working towards a solution. Gary is working with Mike Dunn of Campbell's and
Bobby Littlefield of TxDOT on placing a deceleration lane in front of the
Campbell's plant entrance. Kiamichi Railroad brought Project Alcohol to Paris to
look at land for a new Ethanol plant they want to build. This company has
already started on in the panhandle of Texas. Their current plant will be a
$100,000,000 project. The company will need large amounts of utilities and a
constant supply of corn for their production. AT&T will be upgrading their
equipment in Texas to provide DSL service to more rural areas. The Paris North
facility will be one of the first in the state. This will provide DSL service north of
Paris. High Speed internet will be available to anyone with in a three mile range
of the service center. There are plans in the works to also provide television
service over the same phone lines. Spencer's Wholesale Food Distribution has
filled out and application for PEDC assistance. They have outgrown their current
building on Bonham Street and they are looking for land to build a new
distribution center. We talked with them about land in the Paris Industrial Park.
The application will be placed on next months' agenda.

The chairman's report was given by Sims Norment. The PEDC Board will setup
meetings with the city council to make sure the lines of communication are open.

With no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 4:35
p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Chad Madding
Assistant Director
