<br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />JUNE 5, 2006 <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, June 5, 2006, 5:30, City of Paris, <br />City Hall, Council Chambers, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas with the following <br />members present: <br /> <br />1. Reeves Hayter <br />2. Bobby L. Myers <br />3. Marshall Kent <br />4. Barbara Forrest <br />5. Russell McCain <br /> <br />6. Richard Hunt <br />7. Brad Archer <br />8. Benny Plata <br />9. John Mark Spencer <br /> <br />Lisa Wright, Director of Community Development, was also present. <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter. <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (May 1, 2006 regular meeting). <br />Motion was made to approve the minutes by Brad Archer, seconded by Bobby <br />Myers. Motion carried by a vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />3. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Ross Moore for a change in zoning <br />from an Agricultural District (A) to a Commercial District (C) on 1.796 Acres, <br />being number 3755 FM 195. <br /> <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br /> <br />Ross Moore, Rt. 2, Box 71-A, Sumner, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition, <br />stating that he wants to put in a retail nursery and garden center. The location <br />is just before the water towers, right past The Hills subdivision on the left. <br /> <br />Steve Bicker, 4445 Wood Creek, Reno, advised that this property is next to the <br />Faught VFD and has high line going through it. This is about the only thing <br />you can put on the property. Most things around it are Commercial. <br /> <br />There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br /> <br />4. Consideration of and action on the petition of Ross Moore for a change in <br />zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Commercial District (C) on 1.796 <br />Acres, being number 3755 FM 195. <br /> <br />Reeves Hayter stated for the record that the Comprehensive Plan <br />recommends thatthis area be zoned residential; however, because ofthe high <br />line going through the property, he did not believe it would ever be suitable <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />r' <br />
