<br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR <br />MEETING OF THE <br />MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br />June 21, 2006 <br />Aikin Building <br />23 East Plaza <br />3:00 p.m. <br /> <br />A meeting of the members of the Paris Main Street Advisory Board was held Wed. June 21, 2006 at <br />3:00 p.m., at the Aikin Building. Jennifer Long, Vice-Chair, presided. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Jennifer Long <br />Pike Burkhart (Alt.) <br />Casey Rose <br />Karol Lyn Moore <br />Walt Brown <br />Lisa House <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Zach Saffle <br />Drew Crawford (Alt.) <br />Cindy Allcorn <br />Linda Knox <br />Matt Coyle <br /> <br />Other members present included Becky Semple, V&CC Director, Suzy Harper and Jason Browning <br />Jennifer Long called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. <br /> <br />May 17, 2006 minutes were reviewed by advisory board members and a motion was made by Walt <br />Brown to approve the minutes as prepared. Karol Lyn Moore seconded and minutes were <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br />) Organization Committee -Beth Golden reported that gateway signs had been finalized and <br />that directional signage has also been finalized. Gateway signs are fashioned after a post card <br />that was developed in the 30's and the directional signs are brown and white. Pike Burkhart <br />will present the signs and ask for funding for the signs from various resources including the <br />City Council and Paris Economic Development Corporation. If the funds are approved work <br />should begin within the year and if funds are not approved the committee will reorganize <br />efforts and look to the private sector for support of the project. Organization committee will <br />report back to the Main Street Advisory Board with progress. <br />) Promotions Committee - Jennifer Long reported that a meeting had been held with Aaron <br />Barnes, Website Designer and Beth Golden, Main Street Coordinator. Jennifer brought Aaron <br />up to speed on the design and direction the board wanted to go. Aaron stated he understood <br />and provided specific examples to support his statement. We agreed that Aaron was on the <br />same page as Main Street and that he fully understood our concept. Jennifer has researched <br />some of the sites he's designed and stated they were great. Aaron can design the site to be <br />maintenance friendly for the Main Street Coordinator to update. Jennifer and Beth are seeking <br />old maps for the site home page.
