MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF PARIS BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT CITY HALL WEST ANNEX CONFERENCE ROOM 150 1 ST STREET S.E. PARIS. TEXAS TUESDA V. AUGUST 29. 2006 12:00 O'CLOCK NOON 1. The Board of Adjustment Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry Christian at 12:00 p.m. A. The following members were present: Rodney Bass Kyle Me Carley Howard Corriston Chester Martindale Alternate: Louis Vates B. The following members were absent: Alternate: David Glass C. Also present was Robert Talley and Todd Varner, Code Inspectors; Sgt. Danny Huff; and Janice Wortham, Administrative Assistant, Community Development. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes of the July 25, 2006, meeting was made by Howard Corriston, seconded by Chester Martindale. Motion carried 6-0. 3. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Don Gore to grant a variance of Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 9-502 (3), to modify the required front fence setback from the front face of the house to a distance of 18' from the front face of the house toward Hearon Street, on Lots 2 and 2A, Block B, of the Nancy Wright Addition, being number 840 Hearon Street. Don Gore objected to Wendy McNeal and Wendall Babb speaking at the meeting stating that they are not homeowners within 200 feet of the property in which the variance is being requested. Terry Christian stated that this would be noted for the record. Ms. McNeal, 250 CR 12500, stated that she owns property at 918 E. Hearon. She said the fence was put up to hide the dogs and that Mr. Gore has been arrested for cruelty to animals. Ms. McNeal stated that the odor and barking dogs are bothering her renters. People who have to go to work are being kept up all night by the barking dogs.
