<br />August29,2006 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Wendall Babb stated that the fence is close to the street and that the City <br />needs to do something about it today or last week. <br /> <br />Brenda Smith, 833 Hearon, said that the fence is hiding filth and she would <br />like to see something done about it. She has been fighting this situation for <br />years. Her mother has cancer and cannot rest at night with the barking dogs. <br /> <br />Cathy Gillean, 846 E. Washington, stated that Mr. Gore needs to comply with <br />the laws of the land. <br /> <br />Chester Martindale said that he passed by the location twice last month and <br />noticed that the fence is illegal. He could not see over the front fence. He <br />spoke with two of the neighbors and they said that the noise and odor is <br />terrible. <br /> <br />4. Consideration of and action on the petition of Don Gore to grant a variance of <br />Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 9-502 (3), to modify the required front <br />fence setback from the front face of the house to a distance of 18' from the <br />front face of the house toward Hearon Street, on Lots 2 and 2A, Block B, of the <br />Nancy Wright Addition, being number 840 Hearon Street. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Chester Martindale, seconded by Rodney Bass, to deny <br />the variance request and for the ordinance to be enforced as it is written, <br />hence, remove the fence.
