<br />SECTION 10 - RETURN TO CITY EMPLOYMENT <br /> <br />SECTION 10.01- Definitions <br /> <br />A. Re-employment - A person who provides a two-week notice and resigned in good standing <br />is eligible for re-employment. An employee will be considered resigning in good standing <br />ifhe/she is meeting job requirements and was generally following the City's policies and <br />procedures at the time of resignation. A person who was separated for inability to perform <br />essential functions of the job due to a disability may be re-employed provided the former <br />employee is able to perform the essential functions of the job. <br /> <br />B. Reinstatement - A person who was laid off, including former temporary employees separated <br />upon completion of duties may be routinely reinstated to work if recalled within one year <br />of termination, otherwise, the employee will be re-employed. An employee reinstated to <br />work will return with the seniority possessed at the time of layoff. <br /> <br />SECTION 10.02 - Veterans <br /> <br />Employees who leave City Service in good standing to enter on active or reserve duty with the armed <br />forces of the United States will accrue seniority and be eligible for reinstatement in accordance with <br />applicable state and federal laws. <br /> <br />SECTION 10.03 - Restoration of Credits <br /> <br />Persons reinstated under Sections 10.1 Band 10.2 with previously earned service or leave credits <br />for which they did not receive payment at the time of separation will have their credits restored up <br />to any maximum permitted accumulation, following reinstatement. <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />Revised 01.25.05 <br />
