<br />4. Application for and receipt of an Anice Read Fund Grant to install lighting for the <br />historic Culbertson Fountain in Downtown Paris <br />A. Installation of moonlighting in the trees paid for by funds raised at a Main <br />Street event <br />5. Negotiation of a contract with ArchiTexas for performance of an update to the City's <br />Industrial Historic Resources Survey to be paid for from a CLG Grant through the <br />Texas Historical Commission <br />6. Nomination to the 2007 Most Endangered Landmark List of the historic Grand <br />Theater in Downtown Paris <br />A. Initial work commenced to form committees to work toward restoration and <br />preservation of The Grand Theater and for an application for a Brownfield <br />Grant to mitigate environmental hazards in the building <br /> <br />I/. Certificates of Appropriateness <br /> <br />During the reporting period, the Historic Preservation Commission conducted twenty-two <br />(22) meetings and considered seventy (70) Applications for Certificates of Appropriateness. <br />Attached is a summary of all Certificates of Appropriateness considered during the reporting <br />period. <br /> <br />The Commission also awarded twelve (12) facade grants and approved three (3) tax <br />exemptions for renovations to the exteriors of historic properties. <br /> <br />I/L Recent designation of Local Landmarks or Districts <br /> <br />During calendar year 2006, the City of Paris did not designate any individual structures as <br />local landmarks; however, the Commission has just recently completed an update to the <br />City's Residential Historic Resources Survey, and the Commission anticipates making <br />nominations to the National Register from that list. <br /> <br />IV, Public Participation <br /> <br />A. Estimated number of inquiries and the general nature thereof <br /> <br />The City of Paris Historic Preservation Officer receives a minimum of two to five <br />inquiries per week related to application of the historic preservation ordinance and <br />the boundaries ofthe historic districts. Many inquiries are from prospective property <br />purchasers to learn about incentives available in the historic districts. <br /> <br />B. Workshops <br /> <br />No workshops have been held during the reporting period; however, upon completion <br />of the update to the Design Standards for the commercial and residential historic <br />districts (estimated by end of January 2007), the Commission will have a workshop <br />to review the standards and provide additional Commissioner training thereon. <br />
