<br />MINUTES <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY HALL WEST ANNEX <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />150 1 ST STREET S.E. <br />PARIS. TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY. JANUARY 3. 2007 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK NOON <br /> <br />1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry <br />Christian at 12:00 p.m. <br /> <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Rodney Bass <br />Kyle Mc Carley <br />Howard Corriston <br />Chester Martindale <br /> <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Alternates: Louis Yates <br />David Glass <br /> <br />C. Also present was Lisa A. Wright, Community Development Director. <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes <br />of the August 29,2006, meeting was made by Kyle Mc Carley, seconded by <br />Chester Martindale. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />3. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Ruth Ann Alsobrook to grant a <br />variance of Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 9-602(5), to modify the <br />required side yard setback from 25' to 14~ which would bean 11'variance, on <br />Lot 6, City Block 119-A, being number 208 SO' Street S.~ <br /> <br />Ms. Alsobrook stated she owns the property at 208 5th S.W. She brought <br />photos and architectural drawings showing the carport will be compatible <br />with the house. Ms. Alsobrook stated she has to park in front on the street <br />and does not feel safe. She would like to park in the backyard and stated <br />there is an existing carport there but it is in very bad condition and is too far <br />in the back of the backyard. <br /> <br />Chester Martindale stated he visited the house and there is no place to park. <br />
