Carbage Solid waste disposal. <br /> <br />The city council shall have the right by ordinance to adopt and prescribe rules and <br />regulations for the handling. collection. transDortation. and disposition of all <br />municipal, hazardous, and industrial solid waste, or other garbage, trash and rubbish <br />within the City of Paris, over which a city may exercise jurisdiction under state <br />law. and shall further have the right to fix charges and compensation to be charged by <br />the city for the removal of such waste. garbage, trash and rubbish, providing rules <br />and regulations for the collection thereof. <br /> <br />EXPLANATION: Updates the language and clarifies the city's authority. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION 12 (Part 1): <br /> <br />Section 14. Hospital: Operation <br /> <br />The City shall haye the authority to acquire, establish and own, either by <br />purchase, donation, bequest or otherwise all property that may be useful or <br />necessary for the purpose of establishing and maintaining a municipal hospital. <br />The City shall also haye the authority to participate in a publie health faeility in <br />cooperation with the County and State, or the United States. Such hospital shall <br />be operated by a hospital board, to be appointed by the City Couneil, subject <br />only to such direction and supervision as shall be contaiaed in any ordinance or <br />ordinanees duly enaeted by the governing body of said City. <br /> <br />EXPLANATION: Providing in the Charter for a city hospital is no longer relevant. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />r'-~'-- .-. <br />
