<br />19.3 acres and feels like he is being asked to approve without knowing who <br />will be affected. Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes and 1 nay. <br /> <br />5. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Alan Whitley for a change in zoning <br />from an Agricultural District (A) to a Commercial District (C) on Lot 2, City <br />Block 401, being number 6245 Clarksville Road. <br /> <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br /> <br />Alan Whitley, property owner, stated he wants to put in a crematorium on the <br />property. He states there will be no extra construction because the oven will <br />go into the existing building. This will not be open to the public, and he will <br />contract with area funeral homes. Mr. Hayter asked how big the property is? <br />Mr. Whitley stated it is a little more than 2 acres; however, the paperwork <br />submitted to the commissioners reflected the total survey of 45 acres. Mr. <br />Whitley stated he only wanted to change the zoning on the 2 acres. <br /> <br />There was no opposition, and the public hearing was declared closed. <br /> <br />6. Consideration of and action on the petition of Alan Whitley for a change in <br />zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Commercial District (C) on Lot 2, <br />City Block 401, being number 6245 Clarksville Road. <br /> <br />Commissioners felt the application needs to reflect the 2 acres Mr. Whitley <br />wants to change the zoning on. Mr. Plata stated asked what difference it <br />makes because all of the property in the area is going commercial. Mr. Hunt <br />asked if Mr. Whitley can get this fixed if the item is tabled. <br /> <br />Motion made by Richard Hunt to table, seconded by Fran Neely. Motion <br />carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />7. Public Hearing to consider the petition of John Bell for a change in zoning <br />from a Two Family Dwelling District (2F) to a Parking District (P) on Lot 1, City <br />Block 143, being numbers 525 and 527 8th Street S.E. <br /> <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br /> <br />John Bell, 2300 Clarksville, stated that the location of the property is directly <br />across the street from Heritage Care, which is expanding its facility and <br />needs additional parking. <br /> <br />Barbara Locke, 500 9th Street S.E., owns property across the street.
