RESOLUTION NO. 2007-049: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE <br />GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, THROUGH THE ARK- TEX <br />COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, FOR A VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT <br />GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $95,749.00, WITH THE CITY OF PARIS <br />PROVIDING $79,585.00 IN THE FORM OF IN-KIND SERVICES; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Council Member Freelen inquired ifthe total amount was for Lamar County. Chief Louis <br />told the Council that the Police Department worked jointly with Family Haven and the majority of <br />the cases were within the city. Kent McIlyar apprised Council the amount of in-kind services had <br />changed from $79,040.00 to $79,585.00. <br /> <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Wilson and seconded by <br />Council Member Freelen. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays. <br /> <br />E. RESOLUTION NO. 2007-050: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF AN EXECUTIVE SEARCH AGREEMENT WITH THE PACE <br />GROUP TO CONDUCT A SEARCH FOR A NEW CITY MANAGER; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Gray and seconded by Council <br />Member Fisher. <br /> <br />Council Member Fendley favored putting a cap on the fee charged by the Pace Group. <br />Mayor Manning said he did not think they needed a cap, because the Council would have the final <br />decision as to how much to pay the new city manager. Council Member Wilson said he had concern <br />about the administrative fees Pace charged in the amount of $500.00 per month for postage, <br />telephone and administrative fees.
