(Attachment) ATPA-23 All agencies in our coverage area have contact numbers for the Task Force officers. This way, our officers are able to be in contact with the agencies either day or night, as needed. The investigators and patrol officers of the agencies utilize our officers to assist in everyway necessary, twenty-four hours a day. In fact, all divisions of State, Local, N.I.C.B., F.B.I., or out of state agencies know they can call us whenever needed. The wonderful working relationship we have with these people is the main reason we area able operate as effectively as we do, because we could not operate without the assistance of the D.P.S. Motor Vehicle Theft Service Sergeants assigned to our area. Our officers are also trained in cultural-diversity classes as mandated by law. The Northeast Texas ATTF spends 100% of its time investigating auto thefts or related crimes. Our Task Force scheduled three officer training classes this year for our area, and we assisted in two classes at the Texarkana Police Academy. We also had a public awareness booth at the county fair, car show, and National Night Out. Functions of Sianificant Personnel Involved The Sergeant is responsible for the daily operation of the Task Force, administrative records, salvage inspections, dealer inspections, TxDOT 68A inspections, and investigation of cases assigned to the Task Force. Public awareness and training is coordinated through the Sergeant. The Investigator assigned to the Task Force is responsible for the cases assigned to him, salvage inspections, dealer inspections, TxDOT 68A inspections, and assists in public awareness.
