RESOLUTION N0. 2007-051 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-NINE DOLLARS ($794,239) FOR A COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH MOBILE DATA SYSTEM FOR THE PARIS POLICE DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris that there is a need to update the Paris Police Department dispatch system with a computer aided dispatch mobile data system ("CAD"); and, WHEREAS, the CAD system, as more fully described in Exhibit A attached hereto, provides a new computer aided dispatch system, mobile data infrastructure, police records management system, fire records management system, EMS records integration and the ability to grow as needed and includes; and, WHEREAS, in order to finance the acquisition of the CAD System it will be necessary to transfer funds for the new CAD system from the General Fund to the Capital Project Fund, and the same should in all things be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris does hereby approve and authorize the expenditure of funds for the Computer Aided Dispatch Mobil Data System for the Paris Police Department, the Paris Fire Department and the EMS Department in the amount of $794,239.00. Section 3. That the transfer of funds for the new CAD system from the General Fund to Capital Project Funds be, and is hereby approved. Section 4. That the City Manager, be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate the purchase of installation of the CAD System. Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of May, 2007. r L e ~~'.
