<br />Regular City Council Meeting <br />May 21,2007 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />7. The Oath of Office was administered to newly elected Council Members, Stephen <br />Brown, Will Biard and Bill Strathem, by Municipal Judge Thomas Hunt III. <br /> <br />8. Recognize outgoing Mayor Richard Manning, former Mayor Curtis Fendley, and <br />Council Member Ray for their service. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tern Fisher presented plaques to Mayor Manning and former Mayor <br />Fendley for their service on the City Council. Council Member Ray who was absent, will <br />be delivered a plaque for his service to the City. <br /> <br />9. Election by City Council of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore to serve the City of Paris <br />for the next year. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro- Tern Fisher opened the floor for nomination of mayor. Council Member <br />Brown made a motion to nominate Council Member Freelen as mayor and Council Member <br />Biard seconded the Motion. Mayor Pro-Tern Fisher asked if there were any other <br />nominations. There were none. Motion carried - 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Mayor Freelen opened the floor for nomination of mayor pro-tern. Council Member <br />Fisher made a motion to nominate Council Member Strathem as mayor pro-tern and Council <br />Member seconded the Motion. Mayor Freelen asked if there were any other nominations. <br />There were none. Motion carried - 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Mayor Freelen moved to item 12. <br /> <br />12. Public hearing to consider the petition ofCingu1ar Wireless, c/o Crafton Communications, <br />for a variance of Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 28-104, to place a wireless <br />communication facility (WFq in an area designated by the City as a historically significant <br />area or district. Specifically, the petitioner seeks a variance in order to attach a wireless array <br />to an existing penthouse structure located on top of 104 Bonham Street, the First National <br />Bank Building, beings Lots 7 and 8, City Block 8. <br /> <br />Mayor Freelen opened the public hearing and asked for anyone speaking in favor or against <br />this item to do so. With no one speaking, Mayor Freelen closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />13. Consideration of and action on a petition for a variance of Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, <br />Section 28-104 to place a wireless communication facility (WCF) in an area designated by <br />the City as a historically significant area or district, being the existing penthouse structure <br />
