Consideration of and possible action on providing directions to the City <br />Attorney with regard to the development of a new Manufactured Housing <br />Ordinance. Lisa Wright stated that he purpose of this item was to allow the <br />Commission to give the City Attorney some direction on where the City wants <br />to go with regard to regulation of mobile and manufactured homes. Reeves <br />Hayter said he wanted to know if we can or should continue to allow specific <br />use permits or confine them to specific areas. What kind of improvements <br />can we require with manufactured housing? Mr. Hayter went on to state we <br />need to know how far we can go. Kent Mcllyar, City Attorney, stated it can be <br />tricky with these kinds of homes, and it would require a lot of input from the <br />building official. This can get really technical, and it would be smart to look <br />at what other cities are doing. Benny Plata asked if the City can allow double <br />wide with shingled roofs that looks like a house. Richard Hunt stated they <br />should be anchored, but there are some really nice ones out there. Fran <br />Neeley stated that she wants it to look .like a home. <br /> <br />16.
