RESOLUTION N0. 2007-057 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A LETTER OF AGREEMENT BY AND <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND THE TEXAS HISTORICAL <br />COMMISSION TO QUALIFY THE CITY FOR ELIGIBILITY TO CONTINUE TO <br />PARTICIPATE AS A SUSTAINING CITY IN THE TEXAS MAIN STREET <br />PROGRAM; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO <br />THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has been extended the opportunity to continue to participate as a <br />sustaining city in the Texas Main Street Program; and, <br />WHEREAS, in order to continue to participate in said program, the City is required to enter into <br />a Letter of Agreement with the Texas Historical Commission which represents a commitment on the part <br />of the City to continue as a sustaining city; and, <br />WHEREAS, the aforesaid commitment contains mutual obligations on the part of the City and <br />the Texas Historical Commission incident to said designation; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept said offer of official designation and to continue <br />to participate in the aforesaid program; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br />Section 2. That the Interim City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to <br />execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, and the City Clerk to attest to a Letter of Agreement, a copy of <br />which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and for all purposes incorporated herein, by and between the City <br />of Paris and the Texas Historical Commission to authorize the City to continue as a sustaining city in <br />the Texas Main Street Program. <br />Section 3.
