Presentation regarding Code Enforcement. <br /> <br />Council moved to item 7. Ernie Clark said staff was looking at the possibility of writing <br />tickets for code violations. Council Member Wilson said he thought it would be a good ideal <br />for the Mayor to appoint a committee to address code enforcement and violators. Council <br />Member Biard said he would like to look at budgeting money to take down the Casa Bonita <br />Apartments. Council Member Wilson mentioned centralized purchasing and an LT. <br />Department. Council Member Brown asked about seeking a HUD grant to tear down Casa <br />Bonita. <br /> <br />8H. Public Opinion Survey. <br /> <br />Council moved to item 8H. Bill Strathern said the survey completed by citizens <br />indicated the east side of Paris responded and the west side did not. He said he would like for <br />Council to set a goal in getting as many people from all sides of town involved in cleaning up <br />the town. <br /> <br />Ernie Clark suggested another work session be scheduled for July 2nd at 3:30 p.m., <br />following interviews of possible city manager candidates. <br /> <br />6. Discussion of Board and Commission appointments. <br /> <br />Council moved to item 6. Mayor Freelen said he wanted to change past procedures, <br />wherein the Mayor recommended the appointments and the Council approved the <br />appointments. He stated that he wanted the entire Council to be involved with <br />recommendations. Ernie Clark suggested citizens interested in serving on the boards or <br />commissions, submit an application to the City for Council's review. He further suggested <br />Council set guidelines for the members. <br /> <br />Council Member Fisher left the meeting at 7:20 p.m. <br /> <br />5. Discussion of possible sale ofthe old police and courts building located at 811 Bonham. <br /> <br />Council moved to item 5. Ernie Clark explained they would need to hire an appraiser <br />prior to moving forward. It was a consensus to place an action item on the July 9th Agenda <br />regarding this item. <br /> <br />Council did not reach all of the items listed on the Agenda (see Exhibit A). It was a <br />
