Jon McFadden

The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police Bob Hundley.

The meeting had a quorum and was called to order at 5:18 by Chairman Ed
Seidle.

Mr. Seidle asked for members to review the June 5th Minutes. Mr. Banks made
a motion to accept, seconded by Dr. Calabria and passed 5-0.

Item #3 was a tabled item from the June 5th meeting. Mr. McFadden moved to
bring the item from the table, seconded by Mr. Kimbrough and passed 5-0.

This was a request to increase the speed limit from 20 MPH to 30 MPH on NW
ih Street from the north curb line of the intersection of W. Campbell and NW- ih
Street to the south curb line of the intersection of West Henderson Street and
NW ih Street. AC Hundley reviewed the information that the 20 mile an hour
zone extended from Campbell to Center street at this time. The portion of NW ih
Street that fronted Williams Park would not be changed, only that from Campbell
to Henderson. There were concerns about any demolition of the old apartments
creating a lot of heavy truck traffic in the area from the last meeting. In talking
with Community Director Lisa Wright, there is not a time table on the demolition.
AC Hundley also made contact with residents that have homes that front to the
portion of NW ih in question, there are only 3, Mary Lawrence of 1049 NW ih,
Bonita Minor of 1019 NW ih, and the residence at 935 NW 7th. There was no
answer at 935. The other 2 residents supported the change to 30 MPH.

Mr. McFadden made to motion to change the speed limit to 30 MPH from
Campbell to Henderson. Mr. Banks seconded and the motion passed 5-0.

Item #4 was a request to remove a loading zone in the 100 block of South Main
Street on the east side of the roadway.
