<br />MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS CITY HALL <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS. TEXAS <br />MONDAY. JUNE 18.2007 <br />2:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br /> <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett. <br /> <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice-Chairman <br />Sharron Nabors <br />Ann Rogers <br />Pike Burkhart <br /> <br />The following members were absent: <br />Susan Scholz <br />Nancy Partridge <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br />Alternate: Vanessa Preston <br /> <br />B. Also present was Lisa A. Wright, Historic Preservation Officer. <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion was made by Pike <br />Burkhart, seconded by Paul Denney, to approve minutes from May 9,2007. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br /> <br />C. 3 South Plaza - Mrs. Douglas Solomon by Steven Asay - Steven Asay <br />and Matt Coyle represented Mrs. Solomon. Steven Asay wants to place <br />a door to load equipment and remove trash from building were there is <br />brick now. Door will be a flat door, not a six panel door, it will be <br />painted the color of the brick. Motion was made to approve the COA by <br />Paul Denney, seconded by Pike Burkhart. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />B. 130 Bonham Street/39 w: Houston Street - Daniel Atnip - Lisa Wright <br />went over application with Commissioners in Daniel Atnip's absence. <br />Commissioners had several questions regarding look of awning. Paul <br />Denney stated he could use R on roof and disguise. Motion was made <br />to table by Ann Rogers, seconded by Pike Burkhart. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />6. Discussion of and possible action regarding the following structures <br />considered by code inspectors to be in violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of <br />the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled <br />IISubstandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures," to determine <br />whether such buildings or structures can be rehabilitated and designated on <br />the National Register of Historic Places, as a recorded Texas Historic <br />Landmark, or as historic property as designated by the City Council of the <br />
