<br />MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS CITY HALL <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS. TEXAS <br />MONDAY. JULY 2. 2007 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br /> <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett. <br /> <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice-Chairman <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Sharron Nabors <br />Ann Rogers <br />Pike Burkhart <br />Brian Wear, Alternate <br /> <br />The following members were absent: <br />Nancy Partridge <br />Alternate: Vanessa Preston <br /> <br />B. Also present were Lisa A. Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, and <br />Bethany Golden, Assistant Historic Preservation Officer. <br /> <br />2. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br /> <br />A. 115 Clarksville Street - Reep's Fine Furniture by Charles Brazile <br /> <br />Motion was made to remove item from table by Susan Scholz, <br />seconded by Pike Burkhart. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />Chuck Brazile advised the Commission that the bead board under the <br />canopy will run north and south. They will prime and paint it white to <br />match the canopy, and the metal facing on the canopy will hide the <br />gutter. The new door will be maple, painted black. There will be maple <br />veneer on the windows, with aluminum frames painted black. With <br />regard to lighting, there will be light showing through the show <br />windows, and there will be four can lights recessed into the entry <br />ceiling, with a bead board ceiling inset. The flooring in the inset will <br />probably be brushed concrete. August 8 is the estimated completion <br />date. Mr. Brazile asked if he could remove the old electrical service, as <br />well. Mr. Brazile was advised that metal window frames in the new <br />inset would be inappropriate and asked if he would be willing to make <br />wooden frames. He advised he would. Motion was made to approve <br />COA by Paul Denney, seconded by Susan Scholz. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />B. 1110 Church Street - Crossroads Properties by Ben M. Vaughan - <br />Motion made to recuse Pike Burkhart by Susan Scholz, seconded by <br />Brian Wear. Motion carried 6-0. <br />
