Lamar County — Paris Economic Development Plan <br />2. The present economic development recruitment program will have to be expanded. <br />A. The Task: Within twelve months, the PEDC staff will redesign the web site <br />reflecting the format of the IEDC data standards. <br />This task shall be assigned to: PEDC. <br />B. The Task: Within two years, a recruitment plan will be created and the funding <br />expanded. <br />This task shall be assigned to: Economic Development Corporation cooperating with <br />the Texas Economic Development Council. <br />C. The Task: Within three years, an expanded recruitment program should be initiated, <br />including employing a full time professional to implement the program. <br />This task shall be assigned to: PEDC cooperating with the Texas Economic <br />Development Council. <br />3. An economic development "Start-Up" program will have to be created. <br />A. The Task: Within one year, a plan will be developed to create an economic <br />development Start-Up Program which shall include identifying a funding source for <br />the ownership of an incubator facility and the management costs of the program. <br />This task shall be assigned to: A special task force created by the PEDC. <br />B. The Task: Within two years the PEDC will begin to coordinate the acquisition of the <br />incubator and implement the Start-Up Program. <br />This task shall be assigned to: PEDC. <br />C. The Task: Within two years, sources of venture or start-up capital should be <br />identified. <br />This task shall be assigned to: A special task force created by the PEDC. <br />D. The Task: Within three years, the Start-Up Program will be fully operational <br />including having a building, a relationship with a group to counsel the businesses, a <br />relationship with the Paris Junior College, and a multi- county out -reach program. <br />This task shall be assigned to: A special task force created by the PEDC. <br />4.
