<br />MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS CITY HALL <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS. TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY. SEPTEMBER 12. 2007 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br /> <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin <br />Starrett, Chairman. <br /> <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Ann Rogers <br />Paul Denney <br />Pike Burkhart <br />Nancy Partridge <br />Jerry Raper <br /> <br />The following members were absent: <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Sharron Nabors <br />Alternates: Vanessa Preston <br /> <br />B. Also present was Lisa A. Wright, Historic Preservation Officer. <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion was made by Ann <br />Rogers, seconded by Nancy Partridge, to approve the minutes of the August <br />27, 2007, meeting. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br /> <br />A. 122 Bonham Street - Daniel Atnip - Motion was made by Jerry Raper, <br />seconded by Ann Rogers, to table this item. Mr. Atnip will located more <br />historically appropriate doors. Motion carried 6-0. <br />Danny Atnip stated the two garage doors in bad repair. Existing doors <br />are solid sheet metal would like to replace two others to match. Arvin <br />Starrett stated the old doors are grand fathered and any new doors <br />would require period look. He further asked would you replace with <br />stylistically appropriate doors? These can be metal, but should be <br />correct style. Paul Denney stated that would be a sixteen panel metal <br />door. Pike Burkhart stated take plain metal door and put facade on it. <br />Danny Atnip requested a 60 day time limit to finish work and he would <br />present the proposed doors at the next meeting. Motion was made by <br />Pike Burkhart, seconded by Paul Denney to table this item. Motion <br />carried 6-0. <br /> <br />4. Discussion of and possible action on selecting an honoree for the annual <br />preservationist award. Motion was made by Jerry Raper, seconded by Ann <br />Rogers, to allow the subcommittee to decide without further Board approval. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />.. --... T r- -T .-. <br />
