A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2007-083 APPOINTING MEMBERS TO SERVE ON THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 23rd day of July, 2007, pass Resolution No. 2007-083, which said Resolution was incorrect and requires correction; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That Resolution No. 2007-083, be, and the same is hereby amended so that such shall read as follows: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARIS, MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the terms of office of George Fisher, Mary Lane, Ray Banks and Dr. Thomas Calabria, as members of the Traffic Commission of the City of Paris, expired on June 30, 2007; and, WHEREAS, there also exists a vacancy on the Traffic Commission due to the resignation of Edward D. Ellis and it is necessary to appoint his successor; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the reappointments of George Fisher, Mary Lane, Ray Banks, Dr. Thomas Calabria for terms of three (3) years, beginning approximately July 1,2007 and ending on June 30, 2010; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the appointment of Bee Garman to serve the unexpired term of Ed Ellis which expires on December 31,2009. -- - T .
