<br />MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY. NOVEMBER 14. 2007 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br /> <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Pike <br />Burkhart, Vice Chairman. <br /> <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Pike Burkhart, Vice Chairman <br />Ann Rogers <br />Paul Denney <br />Susan Scholz <br />Nancy Partridge <br />Jerry Raper, Alternate <br />Ben Vaughan, Alternate <br /> <br />The following members were absent: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Sharron Nabors <br /> <br />B. Also present was Lisa A. Wright, Historic Preservation Officer. <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion was made by Ann <br />Rogers, seconded by Susan Scholz, to approve the minutes of October 22, <br />2007. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br /> <br />A. 309 Church Street - Central Presbyterian Church - Tim Davenport <br />Herbst, Pastor, stated the columbarium will not be visible from the <br />street. The columbarium will be 4'x2'x4' and can be added on to at a <br />later date. It will be located in the ash garden and there will be 36 <br />niches, which should last for a while. Motion was made by Paul <br />Denney, seconded by Susan Scholz, to approve the COA, Motion <br />carried 7-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made to recuse Pike Burkhart and Ben Vaughan by Ann <br />Rogers, seconded by Susan Scholz. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Susan Scholz took over as chairperson. <br /> <br />B. 801 Church Street - Pike Burkhart, Sr. By Ben M. Vaughan . Ben <br />Vaughan stated they will turn the hardiboard smooth side out, and it <br />will be painted the color of the house. Motion was made by Nancy <br />Partridge, seconded by Paul Denney, to approve the COA, Motion <br />carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made to return Pike Burkhart and Ben Vaughan to the <br />meeting by Ann Rogers, seconded by Nancy Partridge. Motion carried <br />5-0. <br />
