MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2007 <br />4:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin <br />Starrett, Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Ann Rogers <br />Paul Denney <br />Sharron Nabors <br />Susan Scholz <br />Nancy Partridge <br />Jerry Raper, Alternate <br />Ben Vaughan, Alternate <br />The following members were absent: <br />Pike Burkhart <br />B. Also present was Lisa A. Wright, Historic Preservation OfFicer. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion was made by Nancy <br />Partridge, seconded by Susan Scholz, to approve the minutes of the <br />September 24, 2007, meeting. Motion carried 8-0. <br />3. Considerafion of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 119 N. Main Street - County of Lamar by Suzy Harper - Motion was <br />made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Nancy Partridge, to approve the <br />COA. Motion carried 8-0. <br />B. 946 S. Main Sfreet - Doug Cox - Motion was made by Paul Denney, <br />seconded by Susan Scholz, to approve COA subject to the hardiboard <br />being smooth-faced instead of textured. Motion carried 8-0. <br />Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Susan Scholz, to <br />recuse Ben Vaughan. Motion carried 7-0. <br />C. 524 Church Street - Pike and Kay Burkhart - Kay Burkhart advised that <br />the picket fence around the front of the house will have a ball on the top <br />to match the front porch bannister. The kennel will be behind the <br />garage, so it will not be visible from the street and will be free standing. <br />Motion was made by Arvin Rogers, seconded by Susan Scholz, to <br />approve COA. Motion carried 7-0. <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Nancy Partridge, to <br />return Ben Vaughan to the meeting. Motion carried 7-0. <br />_ _ _ _ _ . . _ _ . _ .1 <br />
