Regular City Council Meeting <br />April 14, 2008 <br />Page 10 <br />OF PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN INTERLOCAL <br />COOPERATION AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />AND THE PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO SHARE COSTS ON A <br />LIGHTNING DETECTION SYSTEM TO BE LOCATED AT OR ABOUT THE <br />PROPOSED NEW PARIS HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS AND THE CITY'S LOVE CIVIC <br />CENTER AND DRAGON PARK COMPLEX; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Brown and seconded by Council <br />Member Gray. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays. <br />32. Deliberate on possible future agenda items. <br />Council Member Biard asked that the City consider adopting a no-drilling ordinance and <br />building a fishing pier at Lake Crook. <br />Council Member Strathern said he wanted to readdress the goals and objectives adopted by <br />Council. He inquired of Kevin Carruth if he thought they should wait until new Council was seated <br />to allow him to decide how he was going to achieve those goals. He said he did not want Council to <br />give him goals that were not achievable. Council Member Strathern said he would a future agenda <br />to contain this item. <br />Council Member Wilson reminded Mayor Freelen that he wanted to be apprised when the <br />Task Force reached the sign ordinance. He told Mayor Freelen they were ready to address it and <br />inquired if Council wanted to meet with the Task Force on Tuesday, April 22"d. Mayor Freelen <br />answered in the affirmative. <br />Council Member Strathern also asked that consideration be given for a retreat for the new and <br />old Council Members for training. He said Council needed to be more aware of their duties. <br />Council Member Brown reiterated building a fishing pier at Lake Crook. He also asked for <br />an update on Casa Bonita. Council Member Brown also asked that the Traffic Commission review <br />Mr. Staples' concerns on 195. Chief Louis reported that they had asked the State to conduct a study <br />and in the meantime, they would place some radar units in the area. <br />Mayor Freelen said they had postponed the executive session for the evaluations for the City <br />Attorney, the Judge, and the City Manager. He asked Council if they wanted to convene into <br />executive session or if they preferred to turn the forms into him for tabulation. It was a consensus of <br />Council to turn the forms into Mayor Freelen for tabulation. <br />33. Adjournment. <br />T U~~.1 <br />
