Texas Parks & Wildlife Department <br />Grant Appiication for Texas Recreational Trails Fund <br />neighborhood students that attend Justiss Elementary, Crockett Intermediate and Paris High School a <br />"safe route to school" opportunity via foot, bicycle, or wheelchair. The trail runs through the Paris Junior <br />College Campus and is connected to the Paris Sports Complex and Love Civic Center giving these <br />residents off road access <br />ce Department s located adjal~ent to theltra~ sy tem and has been de <br />and programs. The Pars ctly <br />linked to it for easy safety and security access. <br />Socially, pedestrians and bicyclists will develop an enhanced awareness of the surrounding environment <br />and support opportunities to interact with other trail users. A sense of community has emerged with the <br />addition of the Trail de Paris to our area. Individuals and groups have a safe and accessible place to <br />exercise and familiar faces are spotted on the trail daily. <br />There are 30,088 residents within a 5-mile radius of the project site. <br />12. TRAIL CORRIDOR INFORMATION <br />Describe below the ownership of the trail corridor. If the land is currently in public hands, identify the <br />name of the public land. The Greater Paris Development Foundation (GPDF) <br />has the rail-banked deed to the 100' x 1531' tract of abandoned railway corridor that the Trail de Paris <br />west extension will be constructed on. The identity of this land is recorded in Volume 196, Page 370, <br />Real Property Records of Lamar County, Texas. Upon completion of this project, GPDF will lease the <br />project land to the City of Paris for 99 years for $1.00. Please see enclosed GPDF resolution. <br />13. PROJECT LOCATION <br />A.
