MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, JUNE 2, 2008 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, <br />June 2, 2008, was called to order at 5:45 p.m. by Reeves Hayter. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Reeves Hayter, Chairman <br />Curtis Fendley, Vice-Chairman <br />Richard Hunt <br />Brad Archer <br />Benny Plata <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Bill Harris <br />Barbara Forrest <br />Darin Manning <br />C. Lisa Wright, Community Development Director, was also present. <br />2. Approval ofminutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes <br />of the May 5, 2008, meeting was made by Curtis Fendley, seconded by Brad <br />Archer. Motion carried 5-0. <br />3. Public Hearing to consider the petition ofParis Big SandyApartments, LP for <br />a change in zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Multiple Family <br />Dwelling District (MF-2) on a 6.5 acre tracf being a part of the Enoch Crow <br />Survey Abstract No. 208, located in the 4000 b/ock of Lamar Avenue. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />A. The following individuals spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Paul Holden, 16188 Oak Grove Rd., Buda, TX, agent for Zimmer <br />Properties, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Holden stated this will be <br />a 64 unit apartment community. It will be located between 42"d and 46tn <br />Streets and 1,200 feet off of Lamar Avenue. They are planning a <br />landscape buffer and proposing bamboo to shield views. He further <br />- OOUO2U <br />
